So, your car has a problem.

Radiator fan failure.

What does this mean?

We’re reasonably sure your radiator fan or fan wiring has failed. The radiator fan pulls air through the radiator at slow speeds, making sure engine doesn’t overheat. If the engine became too hot after the fan failure, it may have caused engine damage. It’s impossible to know until the new radiator fan is installed. Here is what will happen once booked: 1. The mechanic will inspect the vehicle and verify the issue. If correct, the mechanic will complete the repair. 2. If incorrect, The Car Savior will review the diagnosis with the mechanic and present you with a diagnosis and cost to repair the vehicle. 3. You can decide whether or not to move forward with further repairs. If you choose not to move forward, you’ll only be charged for the diagnosis.

How urgent?

On a scale of 1 to 10, we rate this to have an urgency of 9. Some repairs have very low urgency, and we give those a 1. With these repairs, you can wait for as long as you would like, because it will not ever result in harm to you or your vehicle. These are usually cosmetic damages.

We consider a 5 to be something that will eventually need to be done, but you can likely get away with holding off for a while if other things are more pressing. However, if a repair is close to a 10 (or at a 10), this means you should NOT be driving the vehicle, and should get this repaired as soon as possible.

What happens if I wait?

To avoid replacing the engine, it needs to be fixed. Unless the car is overheating, we would tell them to ignore it but keep an eye on it over time. See if it gets worse and refill it when needed. Also, make sure that you use coolant rated for the vehicle.
